Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained fame after releasing the album she dubbed Age Ain't Nothing but a Number in 1994. She was only 15 at when the album was released and it was later renamed Gold. The group was strongly in the style of R. Kelly, and helped put her onto the scene. In 1996 Jermaine Durpri along with Timbaland joined forces to record the second album of hers, One In A Million. The album included the track If Your Boyfriend Only Knew as the single number one. With the release of this work Aaliyah received international recognition for her performance as an R&B artist.
